I'm a techie by nature and an entrepreneur by accident: I had a proper job briefly and didn't really enjoy it so I started my own business and have never had proper job since. My current business - www.singletracksystems.com - was started late 2009 with an old friend. Since then we've grown from two people to eight (soon to be ten) and recently raised private investment at a valuation that would have had us laughed out of the Den. Our future is not assured but in the face of the current economic crisis we continue to grow both our revenue and our customer base at a steady pace. Prior to starting Singletrack I founded a software development company - http://www.e2x.co.uk/ - that is still going strong after 11 years and before that I started a business in the dotcom boom that resulted in a dotcom bust … not a pleasant experience but one that taught me a huge amount about how not to do things.
